Call for Submissions

I am now accepting submissions of various media for a zine about Arab Americans and our relationship to the outdoors. Did your parents take you hiking or camping as a child? Were Eid cookouts frequent in your community? Do you feel safe outside? If the outdoors have not been a part of your life, why not? How has your relationship with nature changed as you've aged? Does your relationship to the landscapes of your American home differ from your relationship with your ancestral home? I want to hear from you. 

Poetry, short stories, essays, comic strips, art, photography, calligraphy - all welcome in this zine. Please format text submissions as a Word document in 12 pt Times New Roman. Send submissions to summergawad@gmail.com. There is currently no deadline; this may change with the volume of submissions. If your work is included in the zine, you will receive a copy.
